The present church building is the second structure to occupy the site since the first building’s dedication on December 17, 1891 and unfortunately destroyed by fire on June 30, 1929. Since then a lot of things have changed. The small nearby town of Forney, originally named Brooklyn, has since experienced continued growth and so did the parish population. The existing church building dedicated November 11, 1929 is still in service to the Parish and will remain so for special services and events.
In late 2018 the Parish agreed to undertake a Capital Campaign to build the future, a large traditional Catholic church that when finished would seat 1,000 people per service. This will be accomplished in a multi phased process over the next few years. Currently the Parish has funded the construction of Phase I, capable of seating 500 people per service. Phase II will add to the structure, moving the Alter and adding additional seating. Completion of the current phase is expected to be Fall 2022.
